What is Penalty Shootout?
Penalty Shootout is one of Knockout.Global's prediction tournament game modes. Instead of flipping a coin or calling a card colour, you're reading a striker stepping up to the spot: will the keeper be beaten, or does he pull off the save? Every round you lock in one binary call — GOAL or SAVE — before the timer runs out.
It's built for the same online penalty shootout game fans who'd normally play a football prediction pool, but run as a live, provably-fair elimination tournament with a real crypto prize pool on the line — not a slot machine, not a house-edge casino game.
How a Round Works: GOAL or SAVE
The striker steps up. Will the keeper be beaten, or pull off the save? Call GOAL or SAVE — call it right to advance.
Every round is a fresh 50/50 call, resolved by a hardware-seeded, provably-fair random outcome — the outcome is never influenced by anyone's prediction history, streak, or stake size.
Penalty Shootout Tournament Format
Each tournament consists of multiple rounds. In each round, you must make a binary prediction. If your prediction is correct, you advance to the next round. If not, you are eliminated.
The tournament continues until only one player remains. That player takes home the prize pool! If multiple players remain after a set number of rounds, the pot is split equally.

Provably Fair — Every Call, Verifiable
Every GOAL/SAVE outcome is generated with hardware-seeded RNG and a SHA-256 commitment published before the round opens, so no one — including us — can know or change the result once predictions are locked in. After the round resolves, you can independently verify the outcome yourself.
